My broad area of research is care robot ethics, with a particular interest in elderly care applications. Thus, I research AI ethics, robot ethics, design ethics, value sensitive design, healthcare ethics, healthcare robotics, artificial moral agents, and machine ethics. I’m a member of the Foundation for Responsible Robotics where I contribute to discussion and am undertaking projects related to EU care robotics legislation. For my PhD, I’m working towards further developing and testing a ethical decision making framework for care robots that integrates care-centered value sensitive design and computational consciousness. For my Honours thesis (attached), I received first class honours and the highest mark in my school department, which granted me the academic excellence award. I received a full tuition paid and allowance scholarship for my current PhD program.
