Assoc. Prof. Ivanka Veneva is a researcher in Robotics and Mechatronics at the Institute of Mechanics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She is an Electronic Engineer and PhDoctor in Biomechanics with experience in Rehabilitation Robotics. Dr. Veneva is active in the fields of Exoskeleton robotics, Haptics, H&S design and control of robotic systems, Motion capturing and virtual reality communication devices and interfaces.
She has been a team leader and coordinator for Bulgaria of FP7 Project VERE-25769 “Virtual Embodiment and Robotic Re-Embodiment”. Currently she is a team leader of national project AWERON “Advanced Wearable Robots for Natural and Safe physical Interaction with Humans”. She is a member of BSB, ESB, ISPO, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and IEEE/RAS on wearable robotics.
