WG2-member

Just Herder is a Full Professor of Interactive Mechanisms and Mechatronics and Head of the Precision and Microsystems Department at Delft University of Technology. He has widely published in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences and has received several international awards, including six best paper awards and a VIDI personal grant. He is an ASME fellow, associate editor of Mechanism and Machine Theory, and Founding Editor-in-Chief of Mechanical Sciences. He held visiting positions at Laval University, Canada, and at MIT, USA, as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, and gave over ten keynote talks at international conferences. He holds over a dozen international patents in different areas of mechanism design, and from his research seven start-up companies have emerged, which he actively supports through joint projects and collaboration.
Past and present projects related to Wearable Robotics include SoftPro (Proposal no: 688857 RIA H2020 ICT-24-2015.2.a), Shell Skeletons (part of NWO Perspectief Wearable Robotics, P16-05-project3), Mobius (NWO-TTW-HTSM 14665), Co-adaptive compliant systems (part of NWO Perspectief Symbionics, STW13525), Shell-Mechanisms (NWO-STW-HTSM 12814), Flextension (NWO-STW-OTP 11832).
